RIOS VOLADORES

*THE FLYING RIVERS

This piece is a tribute to the breath of the rainforest, to the water that flows through the sky, and to what we lose when we stop listening to it. Because when the water stops moving, life either moves away… or fades altogether.

The flying rivers, those invisible streams of vapor born in the Amazon rainforest, have for centuries been a hidden link between sky and earth, between the breath of the forest and the life giving rain.

From deep within the jungle, they travel quietly through the air, watering the Andes and nourishing distant landscapes without ever being seen. But when that sacred cycle is broken, deep and silent shifts begin to unfold. The forest falls quiet, ecosystems vanish, and communities are forced to move.

*Bará

I go forever to the place where the rain falls,
Where I dance and feel at peace.
A gathering where people came from every direction.

I go forever like water and smoke.

Come drink water from the forest and you will never be thirsty.
Come share knowledge as we sit together.
Come eat where there is abundance.

I go forever into the clouds, where my home awaits.

Where the heart beats with freedom.
I want to go to a river where my heart feels joy, where my mother sings.
I take good care of my dreams, my heart is held in prayer.
So it never falls ill from forgetting.
Where my heart can rest.
