MARIANA.

Berlin-based composer and sound designer whose work expands into experimental creation and sonic exploration. Passionate about turning sound into stories, she moves from original scores and orchestral, ensemble, and choral works to immersive soundscapes across diverse artistic projects, always approaching sound with curiosity, intention, and emotional clarity.

Hi, I’m MARIANA, a composer and sound designer based in Berlin, originally from Bogotá, Colombia. I work across instrumental and electronic music, contemporary and experimental practices, sound art, and sound design.

I’m interested in how sound conveys ideas, emotions, and perspectives, and in how it relates to the social and political contexts we live in. Topics such as the environment, women’s rights, and mental health often influence the way I approach my projects and the sonic spaces I create.

Alongside my artistic practice, I lead the sound design team at Mynd, a Frankfurt-based video production company. I develop immersive audio for a wide range of audiovisual projects, from detailed film sound design to electronic and electroacoustic textures. What drives me is finding meaningful and intentional ways to tell stories through sound.

I studied Composition and Music Production at Javeriana University in Bogotá and later specialized in Advanced Film Music Composition in Bonn. Over the years, my work has shifted and expanded, shaped by collaboration, experimentation, and a continuous search for new listening perspectives. This process has allowed me to develop a more personal approach to sound, one that grows with each project and reflects the way I think, feel, and move through the world.
